PORKTOBERFEST is a barbeque and pork inspired culinary competition to benefit the Butchertown Neighborhood Association. The event runs from 5 to 10pm. Join us for live music by Hog Operation at 6pm and Johnny Berry at 8pm, as well as a cash bar and local brew from our neighborhood's Apocalypse Brewery.
Not digging the swine?? Fear not, we have a special category for Vegetarians!
A cash prize will be available to the winner of the five categories, Judges Choice ($1000), People’s Choice ($500), Best Vegetarian ($500), Most Creative ($500), and Best Dessert ($500). The judging will happen two ways, both by a panel of judges and by “people’s choice.” A panel of judges is being selected by the Porktoberfest Event Committee. Judges will taste all entries and will judge on the criteria of taste, presentation and originality.
A winner for the “best overall” category will be selected by the judges and the winner will be awarded a $1000 cash prize and a Porktoberfest Trophy. The “People’s Choice,” “Best Vegetarian,” “Most Creative” and “Best Dessert” will be awarded by the attendees. Voting will be administered by ballot and each attendee will receive one ballot upon entry to the event. The winner of each of these categories will receive a $500 cash prize and an awesome Porktoberfest Trophy.
